Soviet Order of Glory – 3rd Class
Original WWII-Era Award – Serial No. 712514
Dimensions: approx. 46.0 x 46.0 mmHistorical and Cultural Context:
The Order of Glory (Орден Славы) was a prestigious Soviet military decoration awarded for personal bravery, courage, and heroism in combat during the Great Patriotic War (World War II). It was modeled after the Imperial Russian Cross of St. George and was one of the few Soviet awards given only to enlisted men and non-commissioned officers. It came in three classes, with the 1st Class being the highest.
The medal you see here is a 3rd Class award — still a highly collectible and historically significant piece.
Medal Design:
This five-pointed silver star features a central medallion with an image of the Spasskaya Tower of the Kremlin, flanked by laurel branches. Beneath it is a red enamel banner with the word СЛАВА ("Glory"). The reverse bears the inscription CCCP and the medal's serial number: 712514, confirming its authenticity.
The ribbon is the classic black-and-orange “Guards Ribbon” (also known as the Ribbon of Saint George), symbolizing military valor. The original suspension and pinback mount are intact and included.
